FUZZ MANTA (DK)
Heavy Hippie Hard Rock
Fuzz Manta play psychedelia infused Hard Rock. The quartet's sound is essentially being coined by the voice of (female) singer Lene Kjær Hvillum who delivers the vocals with a charismatic, raw and expressiv-guttural quality. Calling their music Heavy Hippie Hard Rock, their influences range from Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath or Whitesnake to comtemporary artists like Black Mountain.
Since 2006 the band has established itself firmly in the Danish and German Rock scene through two self- released EPs, various sampler contributions (e.g. "Trip in Time Vol. 3") as well as several tours in Germany. 2009 brought the release of the band's debut album "Smokerings" on the German label Bad Deal Records.
One of the albums best songs ("Mysterious Thoughts") was featured on the sampler of the English "Classic Rock Magazin" gaining the band fans in the UK and overseas.
Fuzz Manta collected thorough touring experiences through nine tours in Germany, Austria and Denmark between 2007 and 2011. Highlights included the support for heavy psych rockers Nebula as well as a show at Austria's Sauzipf Rock Festival where the band was hailed by festival promoters and visitors alike as the best band and most surprising discovery of the year 2008.
Most recently the band took the German and Austrian roads for a successful double headlining tour together with the late Highway Child.
After a change in line up in 2009 the band recorded their sophomore album: "Opus II" was released in 2011 to excellent reviews! The album features eight varied tunes that span the territory between jammed out blues, 70s hard rock and psychedelia. Reduced to a foursome the band managed to come up with a strong and convincing production that features a powerful sound. While the band's first album "Smokerings" (2009) was only available on CD, "Opus II" is also available on limited edtion vinyl with gatefold sleeve!
In the fall of 2011 the band cut the third album and signed with Berlin based label Bilocation Records.
"Vortex Memplex" will be released at the end of the year -- mere nine months after the release of the second album "Opus II"! Meanwhile more touring is coming up including supports for PREMONITION13!
